To get insights into FIFA WorldCups played from 1930 to 2014 (except 1942 and 946 due to world war), we analysed data about 20 WorldCups. Total number of games played in these 20 WorldCups are 820, out of which in 748 games atleast one goal is scored. The median of number of goals scored in a game is 3. There are 173 games in which 3 goals were scored.

There were 70 games in which no goals were scored, In 83% of games ever played in FIFA WorldCup, 4 or less goals were scored. And in 92% of the games, 5 or less goals were scored.
This shows that in soccer, 'goal score' is a big phenomenon and usually happens just 3 or 4 times in 90 minutes of the game. This made us wondering, at which minute of the game the team is most likely to score a goal. And in general goal distribution across the game.
